Dylan Korba is a man of many bikes and a man of many talents. From DJ to BMX, Trials to Slopestyle, Dylan can hold his own on pretty much anything with two wheels. What many people don't realize about Dylan though, is that he has an intellectual side as well. Dylan is the proud owner of an Honors Degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University and is now on his way to Calgary to follow it up with a Masters.

For the 2010 model year, Norco axed the popular Six from its lineup of mountain bikes, and that decision made perfect sense when one considered the bikes that Norco had in its catalog at the time. The Six overlapped with the 2010 Fluid LT, which was meant to be used as a rider's all-day and all-mountain ride, and with the 2010 Shore, which was intended to cover a rider's park / shuttle / freeride needs.

For 2011, BC-based Norco didn't simply reintroduce the Six; instead its designers developed the 2011 Range, which is a bike that retains the climbing capabilities of the Fluid LT (which it replaces) while stepping it up a notch (or three) when the bike is pointed downhill. I recently picked up a demo 2011 Norco Range 1 to ride for a week, and I immediately made plans to ride a bunch of local favourites while traveling later in the week to sample some of the fantastic alpine singletrack that British Columbia has to offer.

You ever get caught up in the style of riding that you most participate in and forget that there is a lot more out there? DH and DJ and SS styles of riding are so fun to watch and participate in, but when it comes down to it a bike company has to be super versatile and cover all genres of cycling, not just MTB in order to survive in today’s market. Norco is one of those brands that stands tall and has a bike for everyone and they deliver it at more than reasonable prices to make it that much more enjoyable to the consumer.

Jordan and I loaded up the little truck and hit the road for the 2011 Norco Bikes Launch in North Vancouver, B.C. today. The clouds were threatening, but have burned off and it's looking like a great afternoon here. We've got 8 minutes before the urban ride leaves for a tour of Stanley Park, but we wanted to share some quick spy shots of the 250, the all new Range, the DH Race, the Team DH, the Vixa (with Paint) and a Prototype XC race bike.

The Vixa series is the Jaqueline of all trades when it comes to womens' mountain bikes. With 160mm of Norco's A.R.T. Advanced Ride Technology suspension and womens' specific frame geometry, the Vixa allows the ladies to take on big climbs with efficiency on the way up and attack the descent aggressively on the way down. Steep, technical singletrack descents, all mountain trails, enduro DH courses and all the climbing required to get there are all the reasons the Vixa is the only bike you'll see in womens' closets.

Dylan Korba and the Norco Bike Division have been busy working on a prototype 24" Street Trials bike. The aptly named Green Goblin is ready for a beating and will get one once Dylan gets his hands on it. Dustan took it out for a spin for us as we wanted to see it in action.

Norco Bikes is proud to announce the addition of Slopestyle rider Sam Dueck to the 2010 Norco Factory Team. Sam has come off a great season boasting fantastic results such as 5th at Crankworx Colorado and 2nd at Goat Style in Creston BC. For the 2010 competition season Sam will continue to compete at an elite level in premiere events on a 2010 Norco 4Hun and an Empire SE.

Day One of Interbike's Outdoor Demo went off today at the notorious Bootleg Canyon venue. There was a load of excited riders, tons of bikes, and some cactus to round things out. While there is plenty to come, we are going to start things off with a closer look at a few interesting bikes from friends at Norco.

We have taken a look at all the other genre's of bikes from Norco's 2010 product lineup, so now we will look at 3 bikes, from the Shore to the street. The 2010 Norco Sasquatch, 2010 Norco Two50, and the 2010 Norco Rev. One being a North Shore Hardtail designed for gnarly rock rides and big drops, the second being a hardtail designed around street riding and dirt jumps and the last being a completely rigid bike, designed for street thrashing and having fun.

The Fluid series makes up the majority of Norco's all mountain bikes. This series of bikes caters to everything from the base level of dual suspension XC bikes, right up to competition level of bikes, including full carbon frames. The bike in the Fluid series that we chose to look at was the Fluid 1.

The Fluid 1 bike caters to a large grouping of riders, so let's take a look...

The Shore series is a flagship amongst the Norco bike line and has been serving riders for the better part of a decade. Based in the North Shore region of the world, where a lot of the aggressive, and abusive riding has been fathered, Norco has been doing research and development not only on the Shore terrain, but on the Shore as a bike that can tackle it all.

The Shore has gone through a number of phases, from a burly downhill bike designed for the most abusive, and technical trails this side of the water, to an All Mountain orientated "Shore" bike, designed for total domination on that terrain.

Not to many companies have a separate line up of bikes specifically designed and spec'd for women, however, Norco has stepped into the realm of women specific bikes. This means not only are the components well thought out for a female rider, we're talking custom colors, geometries, and features that make the Vixa Freeride bike and the Phena All Mountain bike some very unique bikes.

Today was all about riding bikes at the 2010 Norco Bikes launch in Vancouver B.C. This morning all the media threw legs over various urban bikes (think commuters) and proceeded to follow team riders Ryan Leech, Dylan Korba, Ben Boyko and Darcy Turenne around the city's water front. The weather was amazing and the riding paths really showed us that it's easy to get around the city's core on a bike.

We are here at the 2010 Norco Performance Bikes launch in Vancouver BC and it's going great. Today we got to see the whole line up of bikes and then head up to the North Shore for a famous Shore ride. What better bike to ride than the new 2010 Norco Team DH!

Day 2 at the 2010 Norco Product launch was day 1 of riding bikes. Around noon, after everyone had stuffed their faces with lunch, and learned all about the new 2010 bikes from Norco we headed over to Mount Seymour to shred some core trails. Some of the riders in our group had never been on what was known as the North Shore, so Norco escorted us on some more of the tame trails. Here's some photos, and a video on the ride.

Jordan and I rolled out of the Pinkbike.com World Head Quarters today and hit the highway at 95. Ok so that's as fast as the old truck goes, but it was sweet to see it get valet parked at our destination. We are at the 2010 Norco product launch in Vancouver B.C. and will be bringing you all the newest, latest and greatest from Norco Performance Bikes for next year.

In the past if you wanted a top spec’d DH race bike you had to go out of your way to build it up with competitive parts that would help you win races. Quite a few companies were making nice complete bikes, but no one was making a no holds barred, spec’d to the max “stock” bike. This meant that you would have to buy the bike that was closest to what you wanted or go buy the frame of your choice and build it up from there. The process of spec’ing your DH race bike is the most costly thing you can do when getting ready for the season. What if you could buy a whole bike that was fully race ready and no spec had been over looked? Just drop the cash, roll out and pin it!

Norco Bikes has issued a safety recall for a number of their down hill and free ride mountain bike frames from 2007-2009, due to a cracking issue at the headtube. Read on to see if your Norco bike is affected, and what to do about it.

The Norco Shore series of freeride bikes are built to handle the punishing terrain of Vancouver's infamously technical North Shore, including meaty rock hucks, mind-puzzling stunts, and big boy jumps. These bikes are designed with abuse in mind and after several months of heavy usage, the hearty component spec shows little sign of fatigue. The Shore's compact size feels comfortable and balanced in the air and handles pretty well when the going gets fast. Although it's not claimed to be a great pedaller, some adjustment could get this bike up to being somewhat of a contender for the "one bike", depending largely on the needs of the Shore-style rider.

2009 Norco Shore Two Product Preview: specs & photos by Brad Walton

'09 has already been a fantastic riding season here in Washington with our unusually dry and warm-ish winter (post flooding). The December snow storms still have remnants on the upper trails, but for the most part riding has been occupying most of my time as usual. To make things even better, I've got a great spring test bike courtesy of Norco Bikes . Before I hit the trails with this new steed, I hit up the studio to show you some product highlights of the 2009 Norco Shore Two.

Wow is it already 10 years?! Seems like yesterday that Pinkbike.com was simply a message board for local riders to post where to meet for the next ride and to share their riding stories from the last great adventure.
